Human Foods That Are Dangerous For Fido

I know, I know.  You are eating a snack and your pup is sitting at your feet, giving you that look.  It's hard to say no!  Some foods are okay (and even good for) your dog, but there are some foods that can be dangerous - even life threatening - if they are fed to your pup.

You probably already know that Fido can't have chocolate, but did you know he also can't have grapes, raisins, onions, and walnuts?

It's not all bad news, though!  There are plenty of foods that you can (and should) feed your pet as snacks or treats (or even with their meals).  Bananas, blueberries, apples, strawberries, spinach, and green pepper are all examples of raw foods that your pup may enjoy.  Fido might also like zucchini, squash, green beans, and sweet potatoes, but make sure these are cooked first.  I prefer to steam veggies so that they don't lose all of their nutritional value in the cooking process.

In the hot dog days of summer, you can feed your pup cool treats like carrots, celery, and cucumber.
Eggs, rabbit, beef, duck, chicken, and fish are all excellent sources of protein.

Low calorie treats aren't just for those watching their figure.  These fruits and veggies make great low calorie treats (or additions to food) that pack a nutritional punch and will improve things like your dogs stool, coat, and energy,
